I always dreamed of living the Mad Men lifestyle on Madison Avenue, but I quickly realized it wasn't for me. So, I cut my communications teeth by working on corporate communication teams. This experience was invaluable in teaching me the power of a well-executed, brand-centric, integrated communications campaign.
My professional journey has taken me through a variety of industries, from higher education to automotive (fun fact: I removed a windshield at Ford in Detroit!) to retail point-of-sale software to a meal plan subscription company. I've managed and executed $1M communication budgets, braved the January chill in NYC to run a tradeshow at Javits, and most importantly, led successful integrated marketing campaigns that achieved a remarkable 30% response rate. I've secured placements in national magazines and radio shows, and strategically guided a company through a name change and repositioning that culminated in an acquisition by Oracle.
Passionate about giving back, I currently serve on the Parent Council Board at Trinity University. My previous Board experience includes seven years on the PTSA BoD at Cedar Park High School and two years each on the Boards for Lights.Camera.Help., Freelance Austin, the Austin Chapter of the Association of Women in Communications (AWC), and Cypress Elementary PTA. I also served as co-chair of the Wonders & Worries Wonder Ball for 3 years, growing the event to over 500 attendees, and was the 2007 winner of the Anne Durrum Robinson Creative Initiative Award through AWC.
A UT Austin grad with a BS in Advertising, I am lucky to still live in Austin with my family. Hook ‘Em!
