I always dreamed of living the Mad Men lifestyle on Madison Avenue, but realized early on that wasn't for me. So I cut my communications teeth by working on corporate communication teams. This experience was invaluable in teaching me the power of well-executed, brand-centric, strategic communications.
I have worked in a variety of industries: higher education to automotive (yes, I removed a windshield at Ford in Detroit!) to retail point-of-sale software to a meal plan subscription company. I've planned and executed $1M communication budgets, survived January in NYC running a tradeshow at Javits, successfully executed integrated marketing campaigns that saw 30% response rate, gotten stories placed in national magazines and radio shows, and strategically took a company through a name change and repositioning that led to an acquisition by Oracle.
Passionate about giving back, I serve on the PTSA BoD at Cedar Park High School. My previous Board experience includes Lights.Camera.Help, Freelance Austin, the Austin Chapter of the Association of Women in Communications (AWC), and Cypress Elementary PTA. I co-chaired the Wonders & Worries Wonder Ball for 3 years—growing the event to over 500 attendees—and am the 2007 winner of the Anne Durrum Robinson Creative Initiative Award.
I have a degree in Advertising from UT Austin and am lucky to still live in Austin with my family. Hook ‘Em!
